This family won a photo session I had donated to a US Navy dinner. I had heard the family who won was expecting a little one. I was so excited when they contacted me a week ago to photography their newborn son. This little guy wanted to have his eyes on us at all times. I was surprised a 14 day old baby could stay awake for 3 hours straight. He was so cute in all of his chubbiness.

"I would like to win because the pictures we normally get at the hospital are pretty horrible. I also never have pictures of me with the baby. I can't afford a full session, so this would be the next best thing. I'll also probably have baby via csection so there is even more limitation."

"We are planning Finnegan's birth at a local birth center. I would absolutely love to have some gorgeous photos to remember these very special first moments, particularly because this little guy will be our last baby. Some of my favorite photos from my first three children are candids from immediately after birth, and it would be amazing to have some professional quality photos this time around." 

Photographing 2 year old's might be the hardest thing to do. My little guy Shane is may be one of the HARDEST 2 year old's I have photographed. Today he and I made a deal. He could play with his little girlfriend Eliana if I could do his photos to try out my new backdrop. SUCCESS!!! I love him so much and dang he sure is adorable! Oh, and my new backdrop, I love it ;)

I will be offering mini photos sessions of newborns in hospital, birth center or at home for home births. Newborns must be less then 5 days old. These sessions will be "life style." No posing, frilly outfits or accessories. Just documenting your brand new baby in their new environment. Photos of wrinkly little feet, bassinet name tag, vitals being taken, first bath, gazing at Mom and Dad....the simple yet beautiful memories that fade so fast.

There will be 2 ways to win one of these sessions. 

1. E-mail to [email protected], a non-professional photo of that beautiful belly of yours. Also include a SHORT explanation of why you would like to win, the name of baby to be and your due date. This must be a photo taken within the last month and your due date must be within the next 3 months. You also must be delivering within 30 miles of Marysville, Washington. (extra trevel fee's apply for locations over 30 miles. Please contact me for details.) Entries can be viewed HERE. Entries can be submitted until January 26th at 11:59 pm.

The snow has finally hit Marysville, Washington. Boy did it hit us hard. At 1am we had no snow. By 3:00 this afternoon we had about 8" and they say that's just the beginning. My son, Shane, has never been out in the snow. He also has a major obsession with Frosty The Snowman, When he got up this morning he could not top starring out the window. I got them all bundled up and we went out to make our own Frosty. Why is the adults always get cold before the kids!

Baby Nico is the cutest, chubby, little big guy ever! It was great to spend time with him and his family. He has a very proud big brother who even came in and used his little disposable camera to snap his iwn photos. So cute
