This beautiful little girl is much loved by so many. Her grandma was especially excited for her arrival, she played a big part in the planning of her session and even joined in some portraits. Such a special time to capture these wonderful memories. I only had a brief time with this lovely family as they were getting ready for new adventures in California. I'm so glad it worked out that I was able to document their baby girl's newborn days and wish them the very best.
Some people think having a photographer in the family is a bonus. I mean it can be but there are catches. You might have to wait forever to see your photos. I mean I don't often edit my own children's photos. Bad mommy! 6 months ago my brother and his girlfriend welcomed the most beautiful baby girl, Amelia. I was lucky enough to photograph her and they were lucky enough to only have to wait 5 months for her her final images to be done ;) Amelia is such a sweet girl and will melt the hearts of anyone with her amazing smile. Also featured is my brother's oldest sweet daughter Dalylah. Another perfect niece I have with a heart of gold. Dalylah loves her sister more then anything on this planet.
These sessions were so much fun and the kids LOVED them. At the last minute I found these cute bug nets and couldn't resist adding. I had kids pretending to catch fairies, bugs, and their siblings. It was great! To see and hear the pure joy and laughter of children just warms my heart so much. It's so much easier to photograph a child when they are truly enjoying themselves. Not only do they want to continue to have fun, they want to come back to see me :)

I met Angela through a facebook group when I was looking for a trade for some work. Her handy husband came in and saved the day....or made the water and ice maker work on or fridge :) Bartering is such a wonderful thing. People have been doing it for hundreds of years and to this day still do. I have my filtered water and they now have their memories.
We met at Jennings Park one evening. They came with their four, very photogenic, children. We had a great session and captured some really wonderful portraits.
Sweet little Julian is my cousin Laura's newest addition. Laura and her husband, Benito, have some of the most beautiful children. I was so excited to learn they were expecting a little boy after already having two little girls. What a fun ride this will be for them lol Julian had a rough start and spent a couple weeks in the hospital. I know it was very tough on this little family to have mom and new baby away for two weeks. Dad did a great job taking care of the girls while mom stayed with Julian. Once Julian was home it was time to get their family photos done. Everyone did fantastic, even when Dad got pooped on, he took it like a champ :)
I only met this family a few months ago and I already feel so bonded to them. We first met when Cherish contacted me about photographing her husband coming home from a deployment. I joined her, their 3 year old and several other families at the Naval station in Oak Harbor and watched many families reunite. If you haven't ever seen one of these in person you really should. It really is so powerful and gives you an even better understanding of what these families go through. It was hard to cry and stay "focused." For some reason I think I missed blogging that session so I'll share a few photos here.
And this is a very very special photo, in the background you see a man meeting his baby for the first time. <3
And because we can't leave man's best friend out of a homecoming
And sometimes a few months later you get a call to photograph something like this.......
Oh boy was this little guy cute as a button! When we put that hat on him his little face just lit up and so did mine. He was so darn cute! He looked like he was ready to go charm the ladies......well, maybe in 25 years ;) His mom also requested one of my favorite poses to do at this stage....something about babies, stuffed animals and bare bums....oh my gosh...CUTE!
This little handsome fella came to visit me in the studio for his 2 month photos. He's a little charmer with the grin of his. The outfit he wore was so adorable with the little brim hat. There's just something about baby boys in these hats that I just can't handle. Melts my heart every time. He's a lucky little guy to have so much love surrounding him.
Rylan is an awesome little guy. He's my best friend's little boy and like one of my own. We he found out we had a Superman photoshoot planned he was so excited. He did amazing was was very cooperative. Such a little ham and full of so much animation.
